Jakarta Education Agency Removes Teacher After Alleged Harassment at SMKN 27 State Vocational School in Indonesia
JakartaHits.id – The education agency of Indonesia’s Jakarta provincial government, known locally as Disdik has relieved a teacher at a state vocational school of teaching duties and opened an internal investigation into alleged harassment, the agency’s head said on Thursday, October 8, 2026.
The teacher at SMKN 27, short for State Vocational High School 27, in Jakarta has not been at the school since Wednesday, October 7, 2026, according to agency head Nahdiana.
“We have received the report. After that, I continued to give instructions, and that teacher has also not been at school since yesterday, and has been relieved of teaching duties at the school for now,” Nahdiana said.
The inquiry is being conducted by a team drawn from the education agency, the Regional Civil Service Agency, the provincial Legal Bureau and the Jakarta Provincial Inspectorate, an internal oversight body. The team will determine the severity of any violation and how it should be handled, Nahdiana said. The review also covers information about the alleged incident that had circulated on social media.
The school principal is taking part in a parallel inquiry, she said. “The school principal is also with us in the process of tracing how far this case goes. So we are doing this in parallel,” Nahdiana said.
The agency is also preparing counseling and support for students who allegedly were mistreated, with a focus on their psychological condition and needs during the process, Nahdiana said.
Any disciplinary action against the teacher, and any legal process, will depend on the findings and prevailing regulations, she said. The agency will respect and follow the legal process if the case proceeds to a criminal investigation.
Nahdiana said the agency’s quick response reflects its commitment to keeping schools safe and protecting students. “We are grateful this was reported, and on behalf of education, we also apologize to the children who may have received treatment that should not have happened from that teacher,” she said.
Authorities have not disclosed the number of students involved, the teacher’s identity or the details of the alleged conduct. (*)
