Cartrack Introduces AI Dash Pro Dashcam in Indonesia to Detect Driver Fatigue and Distraction
JakartaHits.id — Cartrack, a fleet management and connected-vehicle technology provider, has launched AI Dash Pro in Indonesia, a dashcam that uses artificial intelligence to detect risky driving as it happens, the company said.
The device is designed to warn drivers and fleet managers before an accident occurs, rather than only recording what has already happened. It detects driver fatigue, distraction, mobile phone use and unsafe following distances. When a risk is detected, the driver receives an audio alert and a vibration in the seat, while fleet managers are notified at the same time and can intervene, for example by telling a fatigued driver to rest.
Carmen Calisto, chief strategy and marketing officer at Cartrack, said safety is no longer only a compliance matter for companies operating in the competitive, price-sensitive Indonesian market.
“In a competitive and price-sensitive market like Indonesia, safety is no longer just a compliance issue. It directly affects a company’s costs, its reputation and its ability to retain customers,” Calisto said in the company’s statement.
The launch comes as human error remains the leading cause of road accidents in Indonesia. According to the Indonesian National Police, human factors were behind 95% of the 148,798 traffic accidents recorded in 2023, which killed more than 22,000 people, or more than 60 a day.

Cartrack said fatigue and inattention are among the most significant and preventable risks for commercial fleets, whose drivers spend long hours on the road. Indonesia is also working toward Zero ODOL 2027, the government’s initiative to eliminate over-dimension and overloaded freight vehicles by 2027, which makes driver behavior as important as vehicle and cargo compliance, the company said.
Calisto said many of these accidents could be prevented and that responsibility is shared between fleet operators and technology providers.
“But behind every accident statistic is a driver or road user who did not make it home, and so many of these accidents can actually be prevented. Fleet operators and technology providers share a responsibility to act,” she said.

Cartrack said the main challenge for many fleet operators is visibility rather than a lack of safety rules. Once vehicles leave the depot, managers have limited insight into what happens behind the wheel. Drivers who spend eight hours or more on the road each day can develop habits, such as glancing at a phone or continuing to drive while tired, often without realizing it.
The company said AI Dash Pro addresses this in three ways. First, real-time audio and seat vibration alerts prompt drivers to correct risky behavior at the moment it occurs. Second, footage of each high-risk event is stored automatically and can be accessed remotely, linked to the vehicle’s location and trip history, so managers can review an incident within minutes. Third, recorded events feed into driver scorecards that show which drivers need support and in which areas, helping companies focus training and track its results.
Cartrack said shared video footage also allows managers and drivers to review the same evidence when coaching, which makes conversations more objective.

The device supports up to three cameras, including an optional camera that can monitor the cargo area or vulnerable points such as fuel tanks and cargo doors. The Indonesian Logistics and Forwarders Association estimates that fuel accounts for roughly 40% to 60% of logistics costs.
Cartrack said one logistics operator in the region that used its AI Vision technology alongside driver coaching recorded a 31% decline in safety-related incidents. It added that Lintas Shuttle achieved a 60% reduction in accidents through data-based driver coaching.
Calisto said the system is meant to shift fleets from documenting incidents to preventing them.
“AI Dash Pro identifies risks such as fatigue and distraction as they happen, so drivers can act before the risk turns into an accident, while managers finally have clear evidence to coach their teams. AI Dash Pro helps fleets move from simply recording what went wrong to preventing it,” Calisto said.
Cartrack supports businesses in Indonesia in logistics, cold chain, mining, distribution and other sectors through connected fleet management, AI-powered safety and operational intelligence. The company said all its systems are developed in-house, on a platform refined over more than 20 years. It processes more than 275 billion data points a month from Internet of Things devices, sensors and integrations with business systems such as ERP (enterprise resource planning) and TMS (transportation management systems).
